About the KDPTop Blog: data and method
Every article here starts from Amazon data that KDPTop collects itself. This page explains where the numbers come from, how the articles are written and what their limits are.
Who writes it
The blog is run by the KDPTop Data Desk. KDPTop is a research tool for Amazon KDP publishers that crawls Amazon Best Sellers, New Releases, Movers & Shakers and book pages every day.
How articles are made
For each subject (an author, a category, a keyword or the week's breakout books) the system pulls the numbers, books and charts from our database, and an AI model writes the text around that data.
Before anything is published it is checked automatically: every number in the text must match the source data (rounding allowed), stock phrases are rejected, and articles that miss the quality bar stay as drafts.
Where the data comes from
Lists and book details come from Amazon's public pages; sales-rank history comes from Keepa.
Monthly units and revenue are estimated from sales rank (BSR). A single book can be off by ±30%, so use them to compare books, not as exact income.
Updates and corrections
Numbers in an article do not change after publishing; the "updated" date shows the last edit. If you spot a wrong number or claim, email [email protected] and we will check and fix it.
