Let AI answer with real KDP data

General-purpose AI doesn't know which book broke into Best Sellers this week, or how many pen names an author writes under. KDPTop gives the AI its daily lists, sales estimates, author release histories and category decision cards: you ask, it looks things up and answers with tables and charts, and every number links to its source.

Things you can ask

Click one to try it: the AI decides what to look up, and the answer shows book lists, decision cards, timelines and charts.

Why not just ask ChatGPT?

The data is today's

Lists refresh on a tiered schedule, top categories every 3 hours; the AI looks things up for every answer instead of relying on stale training data.

Authors are merged

An author's pen names are merged by Amazon Author ID, so release timelines, hit rates and breakouts are one question away, which you won't find elsewhere.

Numbers you can check

Books, authors and categories in answers link to the source data on KDPTop; charts may only use numbers the tools returned, and made-up numbers are rejected.

FAQ

How is the AI assistant billed?

Each question uses 1 AI question: Free gets 3 a day (3 more after verifying your email), Creator 20, Pro 50 and Team 300, reset daily at 00:00 UTC. Through ChatGPT or Claude, each tool call by the AI counts as 1 API call against your plan's daily API quota.

Does the AI make up numbers?

Numbers in answers come from KDPTop tool results. When the assistant draws a chart, every value is checked against those results and mismatches are rejected and redrawn; books, authors and categories link to the source data.

Where does the data come from, and how often is it updated?

From Amazon.com's public Best Sellers, New Releases and Top 100 Free lists, collected on a schedule by category tier: top categories every 3 hours, mid-tier daily, the long tail about every 3 days. Sales are BSR-based purchase estimates and exclude Kindle Unlimited reads.

Do I need a paid ChatGPT or Claude plan to connect?

Custom connectors currently need a paid ChatGPT or Claude plan (check their latest policies); the built-in AI assistant only needs a KDPTop account.

What can an authorized AI app see in my account?

It can only query KDPTop data within your plan's quota and follow authors, categories or books when you ask; it can't see your password or payment details or change account settings. You can disconnect it any time on the developer page.

Which AI apps are supported?

ChatGPT, Claude (web, desktop, mobile and Claude Code), Cursor, Grok (via the xAI API) and any client that supports remote MCP; scripts and automations can use the REST API.
